Small Etchings

I like to work outdoors directly from nature whenever possible. I prepare my copper plates in the studio and take them outdoors and draw into the surface with an etching needle. I then return to the studio and etch the plate in acid. They are then inked up and printed by hand onto Fabriano or Arches paper. The paper is dampened and laid on top of the copper plate which is then run through a printing press. I can then decide which colours to use. My etchings are limited edition, and made using techniques which have been used for centuries.
